Job Purpose
The Junior Stores Controller is responsible for managing and controlling the inventory of Air Arabia’s Line Stores. This includes handling the daily receipt, storage, and release of tools, equipment, and spare parts used for aircraft maintenance. The role ensures compliance with company policies, aviation regulations, and safety standards while maintaining efficiency in stock management.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the required stock level for daily operational needs, including toolboxes, kits, wheels, batteries, and lubricants.
- Ensure timely availability of aircraft maintenance parts to facilitate routine servicing and urgent repairs.
- Conduct daily inspections of storage areas to ensure compliance with temperature, humidity, and safety regulations.
- Assist in inventory control and allocation of tools and equipment as per technical procurement guidelines.
- Issue toolboxes and maintenance kits based on scheduled aircraft servicing and repairs.
- Monitor the condition and serviceability of maintenance tools and report unserviceable items to the Rotables Team.
- Ensure that all unused issued parts are properly credited back into inventory and returned to main storage.
- Support the Stores Supervisor in maintaining safety measures, stock organization, and storage cleanliness.
- Generate inventory reports, identify system errors, and recommend corrective actions to enhance efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Educational Background: A diploma or certificate in a relevant field is acceptable, while a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with inventory software and Microsoft Office applications is required.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with high accuracy in documentation.
- Driving License: A valid UAE Driving License is required for transportation of materials between stores.
Work Experience & Competencies
- Experience in Aviation Stores: 1-2 years of experience in a similar role within the aviation industry.
- Knowledge of Aviation Regulations: Familiarity with GCAA rules and regulations related to spare parts storage and issuance.
- IATA Dangerous Goods Training: Prior training in IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations is a plus.
- Ability to Work in Rotational Shifts: The role requires flexibility in working hours and the ability to handle physical tasks.
- Attention to Detail: The ideal candidate should be highly organized, efficient, and capable of working under pressure.
