Role Overview

As a Cargo Officer (SQ&P), your primary responsibility will be to develop, maintain, and review dnata Cargo standards (dCOM) by referring to IATA publications, global best practices, and conducting gap analyses. You will play a key role in ensuring UAE cargo operations comply with international regulations and internal quality standards. Additionally, you will represent UAE Cargo in the dCOM Global Committee and manage external audits and certifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and analyze IATA manuals, industry best practices, and ensure alignment with dnata Cargo operational standards.

  • Review airline manuals and bulletins from 120+ customer airlines, validating them against standard operating procedures.

  • Conduct risk assessments in both operational and non-operational areas to enhance safety and efficiency.

  • Monitor Cargo iQ performance, ensuring dnata meets high service standards and collaborates with stakeholders for improvements.

  • Coordinate with regulatory bodies like GCAA, Dubai Customs, and Dubai Municipality to implement compliance procedures.

  • Oversee the procurement and distribution of IATA publications essential for UAE cargo operations.

  • Lead certification and recertification processes, including CEIV, ISAGO, ISO, RA3, and TAPA.

  • Manage cargo manuals, procedures, and documentation within the Document Management System (DMS).

Qualifications & Experience

To qualify for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in cargo operations.

  • 4-6 years of experience in an airline or ground handling environment.

  • Ability to prepare detailed reports based on analytical research.

  • Strong knowledge of IATA publications, including AHM, ICHM, DGR, LAR, PCR, and TCR.

  • Experience in process inspections and implementing safety standards.

  • Expertise in statistical methods and trend analysis.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
